Biography

Cyco Thah Urchin a Chicago native raised by my mother, a single parent, due to my father being murdered when I was only about 9 months old. I grew up on the west side of Chicago. At the age of 5, I used to stand with my hands to my side rocking back and fourth dancing to the sound of my mother’s washing machine. At age 11 is when I knew I wanted to be an entertainer. I, my brother Deon and my cousins use to beat on my moms pots and pans acting like we were a big rap group.  We moved to Milwaukee but moved back to Chicago 2 years later.  I was told by my mother that I have a gift, a talent that I must use before God takes it from me, so I did. I’ve always liked music ever since my uncle use to play that LL album “I’m Bad”. I grew up digging cats like Slick Rick, Run DMC, Busta, TK Disco and more. I guess it was around 8th grade when I started wanting to be a part of the music world, not knowing back then that it was actually a business.

Years later I joined a crew called A.M.N. (A Mob of Ni99as) which led to me doing my first real performance. After my short stint of appearing on the silver screen i.e. “Angel Street with Robin Givens” and the T.V. show called” The Early Edition” which showcased myself along with Coolio and Tone Loc, I started performing in talent shows and it was around that time that I performed at south side Entertainment’s Talent Showcase in Dolton Ill., where I met Dana Johnson. I didn’t win on that particular night but he gave me a call wanting to work with me, so I signed my first contract with South side Entertainment. While signed to the label, I won numerous talent shows, recorded songs with artists like MC Breed,  Bushwick Bill, Psycho Drama, Angie, K.M., MC Breed, Maniac MC (Mooka), PMS along with many others. I released my first single  called “So Much Pain” featuring Gemini from Men At Large. Which we also filmed a video for.

I’ve performed and was on concert tickets with groups such as, Goodie Mob, DA Brat, C.O.G., Big Nasty, DA Smart and Mid Knight Thuggzz just to name a few. Unforeseen situations took place that led me in a different direction which caused me to move to Milwaukee in 1998. While there, I produced, collabed and / or written material for acts like, Get Doe Gurillaz, Lechar, Tajee, Big Boy Steez, Thah Mayor, Dosza I Thought I Told Ya, Chosen Few, Magic Fingaz, Big Quetta, Peaches, Bang, 20th St. Ballahs, Double Up Boys, Karrie, Big Smokey, Nutt House, Empty Shell, Shacream, K & KG, T-Nukk, Bull Dog & Soc-Sosa, Lil Freddie, Insane, LOSG, Consuelo, H2o, Timothy Sellers, Mercenary Souljahs, Big Swole,  J Rill King Hook, Jess Ball, Melly Bad Azz, Crime Factory, Tommy Gun (Pelly Grow),  Lil-D, Hav Knots, Insanity Records, O.C., Spit Fire (poet), T.C., Jay, C4, Mercenary Souljahs, Nina Slim (Chicago), Chyna, Deuce, R.L.N, Copo Donn, S.G, Los-G, Money Making Mitch (Chicago), J-Roc & D.J.
